Third Cousins from China Meet at MUM
Although Linlin Ye Shi and Bei Eric Liu met briefly in Beijing, they didn’t know each other very well — until they arrived at MUM where they became friends and discovered they were 3rd cousins.
Linlin received her BA in Accounting from Hebei University of Economics and Business in China in 1998, and volunteered at the Overseas Chinese College (OCC). Eric also came to MUM via OCC where he studied business and computer science.
“I would like to develop my career in the U.S., and being here gives me lots of support,” says Eric, who pursues photography in his free time. His photos of MUM events have appeared on the MUM blog.
Says Linlin, “I just enjoy being part of MUM. People are so positive, sincere, and the atmosphere is so sweet and quiet.”
Together, the cousins have organized the Chinese New Year celebrations and other Chinese events.
